I won 3rd place in Bluffs & Bayous magazine photo contest. My eyes are sooo blue that they usually show up either red or "blank" in photos.
I was featured in the 2007 Mississippi Animal Rescue League calendar & in our shelter BARL's cookbook and also in the 2011 MARL cookbook.
I won Cat of the Day #1 on March 19,2007.
I won COTD #2 on June 26,2008.
I won COTD #3 on July 1, 2009.
I won COTD #4 on July 27, 2010.
I won COTD #5 on July 28, 2011.
I won COTD #6 on August 1,2012

I was Photo of the Day in the Natchez, MS newspaper on June 23, 2007. I won 1st place in the Best Coat contest on CC. Thanks to my sweet furiends for voting for me!

I am a CC Level 20 Quiz Master and a Top Five Lifetime Quiz Master too. I graduated Magna Felis Laude (with top honors) & received my C.A.T. Degree from Cat College on 7-21-10!
I won "Most Enthusiastic Camper" during Camp Kitty, summer of 2010.
My simple avatar "Boo-tiful MerryBelle & the Great Pumpkin" won 1st place in the 2010 Halloween avatar contest.
I won 1st place in CC's My Furry Valentine Contest, Feb 2012. Thank you to my furiends for their votes & furiendships.
My favorite tricks and treats are: I love to lay on the couch and be groomed and then roll off it!!! I look so funny doing this!
Also, I can open Mommy's closet doors (I like to nosey around in there). and I eat my lysine treats every morning & every night. I have the herpes virus & it affects my eyes.
Where I hang out: I love to spend my days outside. I love to sleep in my sherpa bed or the popcorn bowl on top of the fridge. I also like to get up in my "playhouse" on my back porch that Nana & PawPaw bought me - it has three levels & I like the highest one!
My favorite grubs: On 5-9-13, I was diagnosed with early kidney disease. So I had to give up my canned Fancy Feast because it contains way too much protein. Now I eat Prescription Diet k/d dry & Blue Buffalo Wilderness Wild Delights canned foods. I weigh 10.3 lbs.
My pet peeves: I don't like to stay inside, but my Mommy makes me come in at night. I don't like to drink from our water fountain - I prefer our scuba cat birdfeeder outside or my Dixie cup filled with bottled water. I don't really like to go see Dr. Pat every 3 months to have my Schirmer Eye Test, but I am a very good patient.
What I love about my owners: I love my family because they take such great care of me & they love me very much. I love for Nana to groom me. I am very thankful that my Nana & Mommy took me over 180 miles to see a feline opthalmologist about my eyes and we don't have to put those nasty drops in them anymore.
My cat hobbies: I love to play outside!! I have caught lizards, birds, grasshoppers, moles, and chipmunks - I am quick!!
Pet motto: Cats rule, Dogs drool!!!

How We Met
I came to my Mommy's house one day right before Christmas in 1999 (hence the name MerryBelle) because my other family moved off and left me. Can you imagine that? I'm glad though, or else I wouldn't be so loved and well taken care of!!! We celebrate my birthday on May 20 and my adoptiversary on December 16.

A Powerful Rumble Fills the Air
Is it an Earthquake? Is it Thunder? …… No it’s the powerful rumbling sound of ten beautifully painted Harley motorcycles, cruising down the street they’re all heading for Merry Belle’s driveway and pulling in to share Birthday Wishes with their friend.
The helmets come off to reveal Zoe Monique, Cyndee, Mallow, Q. Lola, Ammie, Dasher, Talley, and Thundie, Kali & Elvis, all of the Hairballz Rainbow Riders.
On the back of the bikes are flags representing their two lost honorary members, Doodlebug and Yum Yum
they all dismount and in turn, they present Merry Belle with cards and brightly wrapped gifts. There are feather toys, catnip teasers, bouquets of Balloons, Vanilla catnip cake, with mice cream cups and boxes of Kitty safe Chocolates. Talley and Dasher unfurl a big banner with “Happy Birthday Merry Belle” emblazoned on it. After an enthusiastic (if not very musical) rendition of Happy Birthday, they all exchange hugs & purrs with Merry Belle and get back on their bikes to head out to their next destination for the day.

Good Evening MerryBelle
The Woes of Princess O: I am so stressed out...My whole life routine has been disrupted & it's all my Mommy's fault as usual.....I ask you, why must the woman cause me undo stress & upset the delicate balance of my life??...She is so selfish & only thinks about herself...First she had the nerve to stop eating all my favorite things like, cheese puffs, carrot cake, pumpkin muffins, ketchup, I could go on...Now I am alone waiting, waiting, waiting for her to come home in the morning and she is never on time anymore...Listen, my life is tough enough being without her when she works at night, now this...Let me set the stage before the disruption in my life began...It's 7am & I rush to my window sill to wait for Mommy to drive up...Between 7:05 and 7:10am Mommy drives up, parks the cars, gets out & waves at me...I then run to the end table right next to the door & a minute later she comes in and I get kisses, hugs & Greenies...You might think I am waiting at the door because I want my treats but really I love Mommy's kisses on my little head & I give Mommy lots of head butts, purrs & then I get my Greenies...Don't mock me...I really do love my kisses & oh okay, I love my Greenies too...Anyway, here is the new scenario, it's 7am, I run to my window sill, I see Mommy drive up, she gets out of the car & waves to me, I run to the door and no Mommy...Would you believe she never comes thru the door now until 45 minutes to 1 hour later...Well, today I had enough...When Mommy came thru the door I gave her what for...I meowed my displeasure & wouldn't let her kiss me...I was so upset with her...I do not like this new routine...Why, oh why must my Mommy treat me like this...Mommy said she is trying to stay healthy by walking in the morning..She also said she would take me with her to the Boardwalk where she walks if she could get my stroller down the three flights of stairs in our apartment building...Sure she would, the woman always has an excuse...So now when Mommy is due home I have to wait & wait, and wait some more...I am not happy...MOL...Anyway, I guess I have no choice but to adjust to this new schedule...How did I lose control & when did my life start being about Mommy???...It sure is a good thing I am such an adaptable, easy going, sweet natured, loving, tolerant kitty...You know, I wonder if Mommy knows what a good thing she has...I mean after all, how many kitties would let their lives stop being about them & allow their lives to be controlled by their human...Geesh, I'm ashamed I'm a cat, please don't tell anyone about this, it sure makes me look bad..MOL...HKL, where did I go wrong!!!... I hope you are still top cat in your house !!!!...I also hope you have a purrfect week, I know I won't...Disgusted & Annoyed Purrs, Princess O

I am SO happy that your test came back negative and that you don't have hyperthyroidism! Yay! I am sure both you and your Mom are very relieved. I know I am!

Great you do not have hyperthyroidism! That is fantastic! Of course your Mom & Nana love you very very much! We continue to keep you & Mom & Nana in our prayers. Dreary day. Weather fore cast for the upcoming week looks like rain every day. Makes it hard for Mom to get out. She has to walk to get the bus and some of the places she wants to go to are within walking distance. Oh well. Hopefully there will be nice weather amongst the rain. Leaving a vote. Peace & love. Evie has her ’56 Ford Fairlane entered in the Mikes May Madness Car Show, Mike (my brother) is in training for the big wing eatin’ contest which happens after the 5K “Run Like a Headless Chicken” run. I'm glad your Mom won't let you be in that clinical trial! My Mom would let any of us do that, either! For one thing, Mom would want to do everything possible for each of us and in a trial, you wouldn't even know if you were getting real medicine that could help you, or a sugar pill that wouldn't do anything at all. And you couldn't do any of the normal care things that are known to help, or they wouldn't be able to tell if the medicine was really working or not! No, thanks! We'll just stick with the tried and true and then when they find something that really helps, we'll try it...MOL!
I hope your Mom and Nana get everything answered to their satisfaction, tomorrow. Take care, sweet girl. You've got a great family! Leaving you another vote. Love ya!
