My Cat Profile
About Me
Active within 6 Days
Hi! My name is Peppermint
I am a Russian Blue from McKinney, TX
Nicknames: Pepper, Kitten, Kittan
Age: 11 years old
Gender: F
Coat: short haired
Education: I used to try to catch the ceiling fan chain and turn the light on or off. She 'catches' one of her catnip toys and 'calls' me (by meowing weirdly) so that I will come and see it.
My favorite tricks and treats are: Open doors sometimes. and Bacon, and these cat treats that come in a blue bag called 'Temptations.'
Where I hang out: The dog's bed. Also, alongside the dresser in the master bedroom.
My favorite grubs: Tuna, Salmon, Chicken, Roast Turkey, Bacon.
My pet peeves: I don't like being held for a length of time. I don't like Slinky (our big male tabby) doing his 'alpha cat' thing.
What I love about my owners: She feeds me, pets me, comes to see the 'mice' I caught, and plays with me. She also doesn't let Slinky pick on me.
My cat hobbies: Play with catnip pillow. Sit on my owner when she's watching TV. I also like to play with Snuffy, one of our black and white cats.Of course watching birds and butterflies is nice too.
Pet motto: If it's small and it moves, CATCH IT!

How We Met
We were looking for a kitten. We had just lost a beloved 18-year-old Calico cat. There weren't very many kittens in January. We had just called a pet store to see if anyone had brought any kittens in (they do a rescue thing) and they said they didn't. A few minutes later they used *69 to call us back and they told us they just got in a litter of kittens that had been left at a construction site. We looked at a couple of male Russian blues, but they were afraid and skittish. Then the pet store lady brought Peppermint out and Pepper took one look at the toys on display and it was like a little kid on Christmas morning. She began to play with the toys, even getting inside of one. This was the kitten that my daughter wanted to get, so we adopted her.

Hello Peppermint How was your weekend? Ours was nice except for those loud thunderstorms yesterday which began at 2 a.m. and lasted until after 8 a.m. We received several inches of rain & lots of thunder, lightning and wind, thankfully no damage. Did you know that April is National Pet First Aid Awareness Month? Your first-aid kit should include phone numbers for your veterinarian, extra bottles of prescribed or packaged medicines (like eye wash), hydrogen peroxide, gauze, adhesive tape, non-stick bandages, tweezers, a small flashlight, round-tip scissors, and a topical antiseptic or antibiotic, plus clean cloths & towels. Also, be sure to have your pawrent’s name, address & phone numbers attached to your carrier. Ever since Hurricane Katrina hit us, Mommy keeps a first aid kit & a hurricane evacuation kit ready for us, just in case. We never know when it might come in handy. Enjoy a safe & super day! Hi Peppermint, I sure hope the requests your Mom is getting from my Mom's friends results in some purchases for your Mom. I must get at least one or two blogs a day asking about my beautiful profile picture. I send those kitties your way, Peppermint! AZ would be similar to TX - no humidity? FL was so humid that TX, although hotter than FL, was more enjoyable because of no humidity. As you know, my Mom LOVES the heat. We had a cold March, and Mom can't wait for it to warm up. I hope it is a long and beautiful Spring there in TX for your Mom before it heats up. Your Mom's maple tree sounds healthy and starting to grow with the buds and leaves. Things are good here. Mom is getting ready to go to Hawaii on vacation on the 20th of April. She is getting a little excited. Hope you had a fun-filled Easter Sunday...sending kitty kisses with whisker tickles, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, My Mom will ask the Moms to send her an email with their favorite kitty picture and then she will email the picture to you. That will make it easy. Thank your Mom for the little list of reminders when she sends your Mom the request. I remember your Mom likes the cooler weather. My Mom remembers the intensity of the heat there in Texas. It makes Florida seem cool...teehee...if that is possible! Mom can honestly say, when she transferred out there to Texas with her job, she had no idea how hot it could get there - day and night. The roadsides will be beautiful when the Bluebonnets start to bloom. That amazed my Mom so much how wild flowers with their beautiful colors were along the roadways. I'm sure all the flowers at the Botanic Gardens were pawsome. My Mom wishes she had gone there when she lived in Texas. It sounds like your Mom's flowers are starting to bloom already also. We have some pretty flowers here in Florida but not along the roads like Texas. Wishing you a purr-fect Purrsday...sending a gentle headbonk, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, It sounds like your pawrents had a nice weekend in Ft. Worth for their anniversary. Unfortunately, my Mom never went to the Botanic Gardens when she was living there. I bet the plants are beautiful! I'm glad the rain didn't interfere with your pawrents walk around downtown Ft. Worth. Would your Mom want my Mom to send her photographs of the kitties she wants drawn or could she email the photos to your Mom? My Mom is excited about having your Mom do the drawings for her. As soon as she receives the favorite photos, she will either send them or email them to your Mom. We are really chilly here in Florida. Unfortunately, you were colder there in Texas on Monday morning. My Mom is tired of this chilly weather! Are the wildflowers in bloom or is it a little early for them? Wishing you a pawsome Wednesday..sending a great big pawhug, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, We dropped by Angel Slinky's page and saw the drawing your Mom did. Wow, she has so much talent. I have three kitties I want your Mom to do drawings of for me. They will make great gifts. Probably the 9 x 12 but she doesn't know what their pictures will look like. My Mom needs to ask their Moms for their favorite pictures of the kitties. It has been chilly here in Florida. You looked a little chilly there on Friday too - 48 °. Sounds like your Mom was enjoying it though. We have had rain the past three days - much needed. Tonight, it is thunder and lightning and random power outages. The internet connection is going up and down. Hope you had a fun-filled Sunday...sending kitty kisses with whisker tickles, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, My Mom is thrilled that your Mom has set up a price for her drawings. Now, my Mom has to get a nice photo of the kitties my Mom wants you to draw for her. It sounds like some of the Moms who asked about our drawings are contacting your Mom. That would be pawsome for your Mom. Catgratulations to your pawrents on their 30th anniversary next week. How romantic...going back to the city they lived in when first married. Your Mom and human sister have birthdays very close together....Happy Birthday to both! It sure will be a busy time there in your house. Our weather is very unusual this year. It is the middle of March and it is pretty chilly here. My Mom hasn't even started to warm the pool up with the solar rings. She doubts she will be in the pool in April. Your weather sounds wonderful...in the 60's during the day...even in the 80's. Hi Peppermint My Mom is friends with Ammie's Mom and has a history even with Ammie and her fur sibs. Being the overindulgent Mom she is, I was wondering if it were possible to get a drawing of me from your extremely talented Mom, and of course would provide compensation for such a memorable work of art. Hi Peppermint, Mom is thrilled that you got her note today. My Mom was just blown away that your Mom did a drawing of me. Since she posted it on my page, many kitties have asked who did it. Mom tells them Peppermint's Mom #83902. Maybe your Mom will get some inquiries. Mom was able to access the website your Mom sent to her in an email. The tiger is pawsome! So lifelike. My Mom is going to commission your Mom to do a few drawings of kitties. I know your Mom has to figure out some things, but she's not in a rush! Hi Peppermint, We were blessed here that TS Isaac passed us by. It was beautiful today - sunny but quite humid. Mom put everything back to rights around the yard. Right now we are having a heavy rainstorm with thunder and winds. I'm hanging out in the closet! Hurricane Isaac made landfall at the mouth of the Mississippi River heading toward New Orleans. Unfortunately, it is a wide hurricane - 200 miles - Alabama could be hit with lots of wind and rain. I hope the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo has taken all the necessary precautions. I'm so glad your Mom was able to see the bats at Carlsbad Caverns. I know she looked forward to them flying out of the cave after the bugs. The full moon must have lighted the sky and made seeing the bats a little easier! Yippee, your Mom had Sunday off and was able to enjoy her day! That would just make me so mad - someone stole the space heater your Mom was keeping there for the winter. How rude is that! It sounds like many things "take a walk" from there. Is it employees or visitors who take the items? How was the first day of school for your Bro? Does he like his instructors? What subjects is he taking? What will Sis be doing since she is taking a semester off? Wishing you a purr-tastic Tuesday...sending a sandpaper kitty kiss, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, We are so happy TS Isaac bypassed us - we had no damage or flooding Yeah, Mom has lived in Florida since '68 and experienced many hurricanes. She still lived in Texas when Hurricane Charley went through this area. Our furiends on the Gulf Coast of Louisana, Mississippi, and Alabama might not be as lucky. We are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad you all had fun at Carlsbad Caverns. Did you see the bats? Mom is really pleased with all the work she got down around the house. Of course, now she has to keep it picked up and organized. That is the real chore...teehee How is your Mom doing working around the house? Did your Mom have Sunday off from Kroger? Is she still working at the Heard? Wishing you a purr-fect Monday...sending a gentle headbonk, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, It is so good to hear from you! How exciting, your family had a chance to go to Carlsbad Caverns. I bet they had a wonderful time there. So Uncle is a pretty good cat sitter, huh? I'm sorry to hear Mocha, the dog, isn't feeling too good right now. Getting in that garbage can cause lots of tummy problems. Doggies do the garbage much more than kitties, don't you think? She must be a good doggie if she likes kitties better than doggies...teehee Oh no, your poor Mom. Worrying about the breakables while Sprinkles, Yukki, and Tiger check things out on top of the cupboards. My Mom and I were off line for 3 weeks while Mom worked on some projects around the house. I helped her a lot each day, but she didn't seem to appreciate it too awfully much...MOL I'm glad Snuffy gets the message when you hiss at him, and he stays away. That way you don't have to get into a fight, and you can have your space! I'm not very social either but none of the kitties pay any attention to my hisses or growls. We are getting ready for Tropical Storm Issac right now. Mom had all the hurricane shutters put up today...tomorrow morning she is getting her generator and other supplies out of storage, in the afternoon she is going to secure the outside. Then we will be ready for whatever happens. This might be my first hurricane - Mom isn't sure though. Wow, 90's in August is like Fall in Texas...MOL We have been in the 90's also with high humidity. Mom hates the humidity. Enjoy your weather while it lasts. Wishing you a pawsome Caturday...sending a great big pawhug, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, I hear you...no one takes care of us like our pawrents do. Sorry to hear Uncle left the cats in the room next to you all night and they were interrupting your beauty sleep...teehee San Antonio was one of my Mom's favorite city. She went there twice while living in Texas. The first time she visited a Ripley's Believe or Not and an IMAX theater were in San Antonio. She went on a tour of all the Missions, saw the Alamo, etc. So many things to do and so much of Texas's history is in that city! Was this a vacation for the family? Is vacation over and your Mom back to working at Kroger & the Heard? Will you be going on another vacation to Carlsbad Caves? The past 10 days or so we have had rain every day and our temps have been in the mid 80's. The grass and flower beds are flourishing. Sounds like your temps are still hot even though you are not having triple digits. Have you had any more rain since Saturday? Hi Peppermint, We were very lucky here in my town - no flooding although it rained for 5 days straight pretty much all day. St. Petersburg and Tampa (about 100 miles north of us) had tornadoes touch down, flooding, and a death. Many cities in Florida had flooding and the Governor called for a State of Emergency. Our company was here 7 days and got 6 days of golfing in - some days they got pretty wet too...teehee! They really seemed to enjoy their time here in Florida. Although your roof is a regular roof, it has pieces of tile and that is what the hail broke and caused the roof to leak. Thank goodness the tornado missed you. Spending time with family is always special, and I'm sure your Dad enjoyed having a nice dinner and spending Father's Day with his family. Thank goodness the wasp and the birdies weren't rooming together - it could have been very hurtful for the birdies...MOL I think your Mom and family are "bat experts." Do all these bats look different? Can your Mom tell one bat from another - especially at night? Can you see if the bats are brown, red, tri-colored and whatever color the Mexican Free Tailed bats! I'm going to try all of Sprinkles suggestions...getting up high in a cat tree, hissing, growling, yowling and if necessary hiding. I will always make sure I have an escape route so I don't get cornered! On the 4th, Mom says she is going to do some yard work in the morning, pool in the afternoon, and grilling some bratwursts in the evening. Our neighbors will provide the fireworks to our dismay! We aren't having any company over either. Is your Mom off from work - the Heard and Kroger on the 4th? I hope they have fun at the fireworks. You mentioned you got a little bit of rain on Sunday. What have your temps been there - triple digits? We have been in the low 90's with humidity. Wishing you a purr-tastic Tuesday and a safe and happy 4th...sending a sandpaper kitty kiss, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, We are having some really wet weather here! Tropical Storm Debby has stalled in the Gulf of Mexico and now Northeast Florida and it has been raining here since Friday night! Mom was gone almost all day Caturday, all day Sunday, and most of this morning. As you can imagine, I am way behind on my blogs to all of my furriends. Our company went home on Caturday - they had a pretty nice week - Sunday through Wednesday - and then it started to rain. They love to play golf and actually played six days - in the rain two of the days...teehee Have you had some triple digits yet? Texas can be so hot compared to Florida because you don't have a nice breeze like we do. Of course, that gives us the high humidity. OMG, your skylight was smashed by baseball-sized hail. What does the hail do to your roof that you have to replace it? Is your roof a tile roof? It sounds like McKinney is a bit better than Arlington for hailstorms. We were so lucky where we lived in Arlington, the hailstorms and tornadoes missed us. I'm so glad Sis had a great time camping with her friend. It sounds like it was a nice place - they could swim and visit a Nature Center - but most of all just having lots of fun with a friend. Your Mom had Father's Day off...how wonderful! Did she have something special planned for Dad - a special dinner, a cake, a party? You have a wasp nest in the bird house. I assume the birds don't have a nest in there, correct? Has Bro gotten stung again doing the mowing? Did Bro get his license? Is he driving your pawrent's car or does he have one of his own? The Mammoth Cave sound really neat what with the amphitheater to hear a talk about the bats. Do the bats ever fly near the people especially if bugs are flying around the people? They eat a lot of bugs - their body weight in night! I'm sure your pawrents will enjoy Carlsbad Caverns. Did Mammoth Cave have Mexican Free tail bats or only Carlsbad Caverns will have them? I do lots of hissing, growling, and meowing. My Mom always comes to the rescue. My Mom tells me I should stand my ground and give the boys a swat or two and maybe then they wouldn't attack me. I think Sprinkles has the right idea about being up high and looking down on the "world." I usually do what Snuffy recommends after the boys attack me - run and hide under the bed...teehee Wishing you a purr-fect Monday...sending a gentle headbonk, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, Wow, that was some storm Dallas got last week. I can't imagine hail the size of baseballs. I feel for all the people who lost their windshields. Thank goodness McKinney missed the hail. Where we lived in Arlington, we were lucky because we never had a bad hail storm there. South Arlington would get hit hard though. I'm glad your Mom had good hours for the weekend at Kroger. Did she get Father's Day off? Did the family do something special for Dad? Sis was in Oklahoma camping last weekend at Chickasaw Recreation Area. Was she tent camping? How was the weather for her? I bet your Mom was happy about her jury duty - about 30 minutes. My Mom has never served on a jury...she has been called often but not selected. A Reverse Osmosis Tank has three filters and removes most of the impurities out of the water. The Heard has some beautiful plants and trees. Is someone from the Heard responsible for their care or do they have a company provide the service. I'm sure the plants & trees need lots of care especially during the summer. I'm glad your Mom can enjoy the smell of gardenias. I'm sorry to hear your Mom has asthma. That is too funny - the Capybara had better control of their seven ababies than some Mom who shop at Kroger. My Mom was a checkout clerk at a grocery store and couldn't stand hearing the parents yelling at the kids No, No, No, and then giving in! Why not just say Yes and stop the yelling. OMG, the snake thought your Mom's hand was a mouse and she had to put pressure on the snake's jaw to get the snake to release the hold on her hand. I'm sure that bite hurt! How brave of your Mom to handle the snake again. I like the snake's name though - Precious. If your Mom finds the drawing of Yum that is goodness; however, my Mom would understand if she was unable to find it. I'm sure your Mom does lots of drawings. Smokey is a lucky Himalayan kitty to have a drawing done by your Mom. Isn't "deet" in OFF? Are you sure the bees aren't those African Yellow Jackets? My Mom wouldn't kill a bee just to kill a bee, but if the bees cause a problem, she has no qualms about doing away with them. If my Mom remembers correctly, you have gone to Carlsbad Caverns before - maybe on the way home from a vacation in Ohio. It is amazing how beautiful the caves are formed under ground. That is a lot of bats coming out of the cave! I'm not sure I would want to be around for that...teehee Wishing you a purr-fect Monday...sending a gentle headbonk, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hello Peppermint How was your weekend? Even though it was super-duper hot (95 degrees) & humid here, we had a fun time. We helped our PawPaw celebrate Father’s Day. Nana grilled hamburgers & made homemade ice cream. We gave him a pawsome tshirt that says “Real Men Love Cats”. We ordered it from cafepress.com. You can see pics on the bottom of my page. PawPaw loved it! ☀Have a dazzling day!☀ Kisses, SissyCome visit me, ♥K Casper Todd♥ COTM August 2008, ♥Q MerryBelle♥ COTM December 2008 & ♥Q Sissy♥ COTM July 2008.

Hi Peppermint, Did your Mom work some good hours at Kroger over the weekend? What kind of hours does your Mom work at the Heard - set hours or different hours each day? It sounds like your Mom has the better job at the Heard - feeding and checking on the animal's health rather than cleaning the cages like your Bro. Did your Mom get picked for jury duty? If so, is it a good trial? Are you enjoying your refrig in the garage? I'm glad it was delivered as promised. We have terrible water here also - lots of iron and chlorine in it. Mom had a Reverse Osmosis tank put in for ice cubes and drinking water. We have been really hot here since Saturday - mid 90's and humidity. I remember those triple digit days in Texas - brutal. At least here, we have a breeze off the Gulf to give us some relief. In Texas, it is just dry hot heat! A lot of people don't like gardenias because they are so sweet smelling and quite strong. My Mom could sleep with them on her pillow...teehee Mom has to water her flowers at least every other day when it is this hot and no rain. As Mom remembers, cactus do well in Texas...MOL Mom has a banana lantana plant, and they attract butterflies. Mom was told a snake bite really hurts! Your snake sounds beautiful - red, orange, black & white checkerboard on her tummy. She is pretty big too - 4 or 5 feet. When she bites, does she release or do you have to remove her fangs? If your Mom was willing to part with the original drawing of Yum Yum, my Mom would love to have it. She would frame it and hang it in a place of honor. Your Mom's drawing of Yum is one of her favorites. I could send you my address via email or put it in a blog. Let me know what you would want. Another lucky kitty is going to have a drawing done by your Mom this week! My Mom hates bees or wasps. She had to have a pest control company come and gas a bee hive and then remove the hive from the property. Maybe that is what your Mom will need to do. They could dress properly and find where the nest is in the backyard. Bro might not be willing to mow the yard again until those wasps have been exterminated. I don't blame you one bit Peppermint for being upset about a doggie being in YOUR bathroom. There must have been some other place to dry doggie off. I guess your family knows you weren't happy - you left a little pee somewhere! Sprinkles, I do need some tips. I hiss and growl at every kitty in this house; however, I am the one that always gets attacked and my hair pulled out. What am I doing wrong? Any plans for a vacation this year? Maybe to Ohio? Maybe your Dad doesn't get vacation yet with his new job. Wishing you a pawsome Wednesday...sending a great big pawhug, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hello Peppermint How was your weekend? It rained here all weekend. Although we needed the rain☂ we did not like the scary winds & thunderstorms. The big winds knocked down a huge limb in our backyard. It fell on & broke our angel sister Dot’s memorial monument. Mommy was so upset. She has already called Brookhaven Monument to get a replacement made. Thank goodness they still carry that same monument. Have a blessed day.✞ Hugs, MerryBelleCome visit me, ♥K Casper Todd♥ COTM August 2008, ♥Q MerryBelle♥ COTM December 2008 & ♥Q Sissy♥ COTM July 2008.

Hi Peppermint, We have had some rain - 3" last night after 10:00p - thank goodness no thunder or lightning. I'm so sorry to hear that Snuffy had to spend most of the evening under the bed. Your temps sounded wonderful there on Thursday - high 60's and then only up to 80°. Too bad it didn't stay that cool. You know it wouldn't be summer in Texas unless those temps were in the triple digits! MOL Unfortunately I don't remember who your Sis dressed up as last year either. My Mom and I aren't familiar with A-Kon, but I remember she had a good time last year too! We are so glad that your Dad likes his new job and they are nice to him. Starting a new job after being in another one for so many years can be very difficult! That Whirlpool fridge you had was amazing. I don't think a fridge is suppose to last that long. Did your new Kenmore arrive yesterday as scheduled? Mom had a Kenmore years ago - she sold it with her house, but she really like it. Her house was in Florida and she was living in an apartment in Arlington, TX. It gets hot here in Florida but nothing like the heat in Texas. This morning the grass and the flowers looked like they grew over night from the rain that fell. In one of her flower beds, Mom planted two gardenia bushes, an azalea, and two marigolds. In the other flower bed, she planted coleus, begonias, and torenia. How nice to have Kandy's grave in the backyard under the Live Oak tree. My Mom cheats - she uses the blower rather than raking the leaves. She blows the leaves over into the woods next to us. When your Mom and Sis are handling the snake, do they ever have to worry about the snake biting them? What do snakes eat - mice? How big is the snake? It sounds like your Dad has that top nice and secure with no threat of the cats bothering the snake or the snake getting out to bother the household...teehee Does your Mom like working with the outside animals at the Heard? Does she do the same things for them like she does for the inside animals - change their water, clean their homes, and feed them? That is funny - Sprinkles might be a little near-sighted - she will growl at her brother Snuffy because she thinks he is Yukki! I'm glad Tippi and Sprinkles confrontation didn't need to be broken up by your Mom or Sis. I'm glad the doctor was able to prescribe an antibiotic that helped your Mom's stomach or intestinal problems. I'm thrilled to hear her hand is fine and the sensation is back It was touch and go there for a while.. My Mom still loves the drawing your Mom did of Yum Yum. She had it made into a photo, and it is in a frame now. ...continuedCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, ....continued That is the problem with a warm winter - the bugs don't get killed off like they should. So far we haven't had any bug problems except ants and that was because we were so dry for so long. Saunter and Hawkeye are two male cats that make my life miserable here. They attack me and ripe out my hair and roll me over. Saunter weighs about 21 pounds and stands really tall. If we are in the same room or on the lanai at the same time, Mom has to supervise! Mom tells me I should stand up to those two boys but I never do. Maybe Sprinkles and I need to have a chat...teehee Wishing you a pawsome Caturday...sending a great big pawhug, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, That is wonderful that your Dad had a support group through your Church. It probably kept his spirits up and gave him the encouragement to work so hard to find a new position. What type of blog did he start? My Mom is really enjoying her retirement. She hasn't been doing any hobbies - just busy doing "nothing" everyday...running errands, going shopping, doing Wii exercises every morning, etc., etc. It sounds like Sis had a really great time at the A-Kon. She had an opportunity to stay at a hotel with classmates from College. If I remember correctly, she went to one of these conventions last year, didn't she? I guess you can't complain if your fridge lasted 24 years...teehee Mom finally bought an inexpensive frost free fridge for our garage to keep sodas, extra vegetables and dairy products plus some freezer items. She sure hopes hers will last 24 years! It has been in the 90's here for quite a few weeks. We had an exceptionally warm winter, and Spring lasted probably about three weeks and then right into the hot weather. So far not much humidity that is because we were so dry. We had a good rain last Friday and another good one today. The humidity will probably start in within the next week or so. My Mom put two flower beds in within the past three weeks - Mom said it was pretty hot out there to be doing yard work. Mom remembers how hot it got in Texas...tell your Mom to be careful if she works outside. What does your Mom do with the snake? Other than feed a snake, do you pet a snake or handle the snake somehow? Yikes, my Mom couldn't do anything with a snake except scream probably...teehee How did your Mom take care of the non-venomous snakes at the Heard - just feeding them and cleaning their "homes." Can the snake at home get out now, or did your Dad make sure the top was escape-proof? Does your Mom like both of her jobs? I think sometimes she doesn't like the hours she has to work at Kroger! When we blogged last Fall (or maybe it was Spring or the year before) your Mom had hurt her hand because one of the animals at the Heard had bit her? She has lost some of the feeling in it, and it was her drawing hand. Is your Mom still having health issues from that or is it some other problem that is causing her trouble? We are glad to hear though that her health issues are better now. We will say a prayer and keep our fingers and paws crossed that her health continues to be good. So Sprinkles and Tippi still have their little confrontations! Were her furbabies involved in any way? Did your Mom have to break it up? I don't get along with any of the kitties and Mom always has to intervene because we hiss and growl at one another. Saunter and Hawkeye will attack me and roll me around on the floor and pull my hair out! I should mention I don't get along with my Mom either...teehee ...continuedCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint, Mom is so very happy that Angels Slinky & Natira are taking good care of her Yum Yum. Mom hasn't been able to send any blogs for Yum Yum since she passed. Even the thank you blogs Mom sent out for the condolences were sent in Mom's voice. I'm so sorry to hear your Dad lost his job back in November. It is hard to believe that people who have had their jobs for so many years - 23 years in your Dad's case - are being let go by companies. I guess the goodness is: your Dad found a job very quickly. Some people are out of work for years looking for a new position. And, it is wonderful that he likes his job and the people he is working with. Sometimes, money is not the most important thing. OMG, your sister is old enough to drive now! Growing up fast. I hope she enjoys the Anime convention this weekend. Your sister has a snake? Are any of the kitties interested in the snake? How big is the snake? Does your Mom like the snake? I'm sorry to hear about your goldfish - was any of the kitties playing in the tank? It sounds like your Mom is going to re-decorate the new fish's "home!" I'm sorry to hear your Mom had some health issues. I hope she is feeling 100% better now. Your Mom is still working two jobs - at Krogers and the Heard? It seemed to be a mild winter all around the country as far as snow falling. However, the Midwest really got hit with tornadoes. Thank goodness none of them touched down in your neighborhood. Happy Belated Birthday to your Mom! We had a really warm winter here. Don't know if you know, but my Mom retired and is no longer working. She started to collect Social Security in February. A lady of leisure now with no time to do anything. She did start to work out in the yard the beginning of May. She planted two new flower beds this year and seems to buy a new plant each week for the lanai...teehee Everyone take care and hope to hear from you soon. Wishing you a fun-filled Sunday...sending kitty kisses with whisker tickles, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

Hi Peppermint and Sprinkles, It is so good to hear from you. Mom has thought of you often the past few months. Mom had to help Yum Yum cross Rainbow Bridge on March 5th of this year. Yum was losing weight since December. Between Mom's regular vet and an ongologist, there were lots of missed diagnosis. Yum was down to 4 pounds when she stopped eating and drinking all together on February 27. Mom took her to a vet hospital on Wednesday the 29th - they did lots of tests and determined Yum had lymphoma of the nasal passages and digestive tract. Mom picked her up on the 2nd and helped her cross Rainbow Bridge on Monday the 5th. Mom is still broken hearted and having much difficulty coping with the loss. She left Yum Yum's page up on CatChannel but cannot blog for her as an Angel and rarely reads any of her blogs because she immediately cries. We are so sorry to hear that three animals were loss due to cancer at your Mom's job. It sounds like sweet Rosie, the rabbit, must have been a favorite there. Yes, I had to have my teeth cleaned and my right upper canine extracted. I am slowly recovering - not too active yet but eating, drinking, and using my litterbox. How is everything going there in Texas? How is Mom, Dad, Sis, and Bro? Did you have a good winter? Doing anything special this summer? How is Tippi and her babies, Yukki & Little Tiger? They must be 2 by now! Wishing you a purr-tastic Friday...sending a sandpaper kitty kiss, and a vote, AmmieCome visit me, Angel Yum Yum & Ammie.

With great sadness and a broken heart, I come to let you know that our beloved furrend Yum Yum #93255 crossed the Rainbow Bridge today after it was learned she had lymphosarcoma of the sinus and soft palate. Her dear Mom Lynda did not want her to continue suffering, so let her cross into the beloved arms of all the CC angels who were waiting to greet her. All of CC is in mourning at the loss of such a wonderful and loving furrend. With a gentle hug soaked with tears, FelicityCome visit me, ♦ Tawnee ♦ & ♥ Q. Felicity ♥ COTM Dec. 2009.
