My mom had really wanted a Russian Blue cat {my dad and I wanted a dog} and we went to the local animal shelter a bit more than a year ago and we ALL fell in love with her.

How are you, sweet friend?
Besides voting daily for cotd/cotm, we have been offline for a long time. We missed you all very much and are sooooo glad to be back.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for not forgetting about us while we were away. It meant so much to mom and all of us when you brought the goodies over to help Abby celebrate her 10th birthday, which was on Oct. 20th. And then....COTD the next day!!
It is embarrassing to be sending our thanks this late, but better now than never, right?
Being in the COTD window again was a big honor to us, and we are so grateful for such wonderful friends. We love you all!

Thank You all so much for my COTD. What a surprise. I'm very Honored. Wow what a Birthday, before dad took the car in to be serviced. I got my car ride. Mom n dad took me to the pond, in the park. I got to play with Frogs, and even seen a opulent Lizards. Boy those Lizards are fast. I seen a cat, and wanted to mean him are her. But he are she was very afraid. So mom would let me play with him. I even got a whole Potato Chip. I just love them and mom doesn't let me have one very often. Everyone wants me. But mom tells them oh no not My Harley he's my God Scent Kitty. Mom tells everyone and I'm sure you all heard how mom got me. But mom said that was crying very hard off Angel Duffy, and she was on her way home. And she drove way passed her house. When she stopped at the stop light she looked up and there was the Cottonville HS. Mom thought that it was a sign. And mom had told dad that long before Angel Duffy passed. That her next cat would come from the HS and it would be a Siamese Mutt, Blue Point. Dad laughed at her every time she said it. Mom just had to go in it. And she looked at the older cats no Blue Points, so she went a crossed to the kittens, and there were 30 kittens, and I was the very last one she looked at. And the lady that worked there told mom that there were no Blue Points there. But mom new when she seen me she had to have me. And she called dad, and told her God spent her there. That I was mean to be there kitty. That's why mom says I'm a gift from God. And she and dad thank God everyday that they have us Fur Kids. Thank you all for visiting & voting for me on my & Terri's adoptivesary & then voting me COTD and CROTD too! I was very surrprised & honored to again be COTD.
Mom did not help us celebrate the way we wanted to. Instead she took us both to the vet for our annual check up & rabies shot-is that anyway to treat royalty!

I want to thank everyone for the incredibly warm welcome I and my babies have received here - and now COTD! Mom was shocked, to say the least. 2028 ~*~OMG, MY SWEET FRIENDS!!!~*~
EUGENE, OREGON WEATHER REPORT:
The temperature was high 65 & low was 49 this morning, now it's 59 with humidity 69% & wind is 6 MPH. Monday's suppose to be Mostly Sunny☼ & High 69.
It was a little warmer today and we did go outside early this afternoon. We were all good for mom and we even came back inside on our own when mom called us in then we got Good Life Catnip Treats. Mom gave me about six xtra treats. MOL!!!
Wow, Saturday was my 5 year Adoptiversary and today I received my 4th Cat of the Day Badge!!! I owe it all to you who came to my party and even left me votes!!! Thank you so much for this Honor.
Thank you for helping me celebrate today 10/16/2011 on my COTD!!! I'm delivering another sample of yummies that my family has put together in the take home basket. You will find my purr*sonal favorites of Catnip Candy Bar; Catnip Milk; BBQ Kabob of Mousie, Birdie, Tuna, Shrimp & Chicken and a red Chirpie mousie.

Tigger reminds me of a big orange tabby with lots of personality. Pooh stated, "He always seems bigger because of his bounces". He is cheerful, outgoing, competitive in a friendly way, and has complete confidence in himself. Tiggers "never get lost"; he is able to find his way through the Forest even in a thick mist, despite Rabbit's attempts to lose him. I had such a grand time at my birthday party yesterday. I got in late, slept in late and see that I am in today's spotlight .

First of all I want to apologize for just now getting on CC. It has been over a month and we have missed you all terribly.
Taz has been frantically after me to thank all of her CC furiends for her 2nd COTD badge, the day after her 15th birthday!! And of course for all of the wonderful birthday wishes!!!!
It is fault entirely – life gets in the way of things sometimes and mine has been very hectic. It didn’t help matters that the computer was down for over a week. Now I will had this over to Taz.
Thank you all of my CC furiends. I am humbled and don’t know what to say. My birthday was special because I got to spend all day with Mom. (and of course all of the extra treats and presents) It is extra special because of all of you!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so very honored.

When this precious kitten was one week old, she and her brother became in desperate need of a Mom to care for them. A neighbor called the Mom of the Sunclowder and asked could she help two kittens survive. The Sunclowder Mom took in the two tiny babies, Whumpie and a Titi, and gave them round the clock care. Titi not only survived, she thrived!
Titi lives in a family of 9 and is mom's special girl and sleeps with her every night.

I'm finally getting a chance to try and catch up on my blogs. We were away quite a bit these last few days helping Indie and Kato (The Phat Cat Express) on their journey to their brand new home. They are now at their new furrever home and all of us here couldn't be happier for them.

Thanks from Sparkles K. for April 7th COTD!
This morning I woke up before Mom (as usual). I walked over to the laptop computer, paced back and forth and wondered “Did I win? Did I win?” Finally after the third time Mom hit the snooze button on that morning noise-maker by the bed, I just could NOT stand the suspense any longer! I jumped up on Mom and put my nose right down into her face so she would finally GET UP AND CHECK!! She opened her eyes and said “Sparkles! Do you think you won Cat of the Day??” GEEZ MOM – what do you think I’ve been waiting for!! GO CHECK! So, with my paws crossed, Mom opened up catchannel and HURRAY!! we saw my photo in the Winner’s Box!! We were both so thrilled! Mom said “Congratulations Cat of the Day. Let’s go get you some extra treats to celebrate”. Yeah Mom! Yeah Cat Channel Friends! Thank You! And guess what – as an added bonus to my excitement this morning – I looked out my window and the birds had finally found my birthday present (the bird feeder Dad put up right outside my window for my first birthday, which was March 29th). It’s a GREAT day for me! THANK you to all the kitties who took the time to come over and paw me a vote (and to come over and congratulate me today). Thanks for leaving a note on my page. I really appreciate it. I’m glad to get to know new fur friends and of course I really appreciate the friendship of all the friends I’ve already made on cc. I hope to get back to you real soon to exchange more notes and continue to have so much fun together. This has been a real treat for me and for Mom. Thanks again for everything! Today I think we'll look into what you should do you do if you encounter an injured kitty? The very first thing to do is to get the cat some place safe, and try to find the owner. If that isn't possible, examine the kitty to determine the problem. If it was hit by a car you should gently scoop up the cat and rush it to a veterinarian for care. Never have a young child hold an injured pet. Finding an injured cat when you do not know the cause is a bit more concerning. You will have to determine if the cat needs medical attention from a veterinarian, or just needs rest. Usually with an injury situation, and a stray cat, a trip to the vet is best, because they can give the cat any vaccinations it will require and check it properly for any other health issues. This is particularly important if you are considering keeping the cat. Remember, we are talking about a cat where you KNOW there is not an owner, not just a stray cat you happened to find for the first time. Home rest after treatment, should always be done in a small quiet room, where the cat can have a litter box, food, and water. Proper nutrition is important to the recovery of the kitty. It should have plenty of water and dry food, plus the addition of a small amount of canned food to give it extra protein and energy.
COMMON INJURIES TO CATS
* Being hit by a vehicle
* Being injured by another animal
* Being injured by a fan-belt (in the winter cats often curl up in or under vehicle engines for warmth)
* Intentionally hurt by a human
If you have injured an animal it is your duty to tend to it. While you may not be financially responsible (after all its owner let it out) you have a moral duty to make sure it does not suffer needlessly while waiting to be helped. Well, I hope you never need this information, but it's good to think about what to do, before you actually have to deal with the situation.

They left us their paw prints we no longer see,
their happiness still in our minds.
They left us fond memories to you and to me,
their friendship will last all of time.
They left us their shadows grow dimmer to fade,

of footfalls not gentle, like horses.

Love is in the air! Is there anything sweeter than the love of our sweet kitties? Have to admit --- not much! Sherman was a tiny, orphaned, 3 weeks of age kitten when his Mom found him crying outside in a woodpile on a bitterly cold day. She took him inside, nursed him back to health, and then before she even realized it, he completely stole her heart! Angel Sherman gave his family all his love. He was only to be here for a short time, but while he was here he left his little paw prints on the hearts of everyone in his family. Now, he spends his day sailing on voyages of the imagination through the clouds on that magical vessel, "The Golden Kitty"! His NICE family, including King Zaboo, hope you will go by and leave a vote Sunday for Angel Sherman #35766 so this dearly loved angel can be the CC representative of love on Valentine Day!
Thanks to Queen Abigail for her fun filled reign as our CC February Queen of Hearts! She has had many dazzling parties in the castle this month and follows superbly in the paw tracks of Queen Boo Kitty!

I am simply overwhelmed by the wonderful response to our catpaign and the very kind things you've said about me. Thank you so very much.. Yesterday we talked about websites that help feed shelter kitties, and we had a poem about rescue groups. Today I'd like to touch on a subject that is vital to shelters. Fostering. Fostering is important for a number of reasons. Some kitties need special attention for medical reasons. Sometimes the shelter simply needs, to reduce the number of kitties being housed on the premises, but most often kitties need fostering to help them with their socialization. My dad says fostering is hard, because he always fell in love with the kitties and even though he knew they were going to good homes he missed them when they left. It is so important that kittens learn the joy of being loved by and playing with people. Without that trust and joy it is very hard for them to be adopted. Foster parents have vital roles in helping the shelter cats reach their full potential. If any of your parents, or family has the ability and desire to be a foster parent please contact your shelter.
We have a poem tonight that was sent to dad by a friend, right after my sister Talley came to live with us. Dad truly believes that Talley came to us as a result of a Miracle. At the time, my sister Sylvia was almost at the end of her battle with cancer and dad was very sad. Sorry, Dad is having a hard time typing this for me. He believes that Sylvia prayed for a needy kitten to be sent to dad, and that Talley was the answer to that prayer. Her page # is 88476 if you'd like to read her story. Any way this poem means a lot to us and we hope you like it.

Last Friday 28th January, Mom and I had the most wonderful surprise to find I was COTD. This would not have been possible without you, my special friends.
My kitties family and I joined to Cat Channel on March 2009. By that time, I was only 9 months old. Mommy had a brand new computer and she was browsing the Internet when she found this great site. We never could imagine we would make the most kind and precious friends in the whole world here.
Thank you so much for being a part of our lives, for your love and support always. It´s the best gift ever.
