People who haven't been blessed with furry feline love have a difficult time believing this though, because kitties show affection very differently than people do. In fact, some cat behaviors that puzzle, aggravate or even offend people are a cat's way of expressing undying affection. 1. Cats Love with Purrs. Her purrs can mean a variety of things, from delight to expressions of concern. And kitty purrs range from soft and subtle to Mack-truck loud. When your cat purrs in your presence, you can be sure she’s expressing her love for you. 2. Cats Love with Bunting. When a cat cheek-rubs you, head-bumps your face, or pushes against you, he leaves his scented signature. These behaviors, termed bunting, are expressions of affection cats display to other cats, dogs-and their most favorite people. 3. Cats Love with Spraying. Say it ain’t so! But it’s true—if your cat has decided to baptize your bed or other belongings with urine, you should consider it a back-handed compliment. Cats use their own scent to calm themselves down. Kitties feeling upset over separation anxiety or other issues often target areas that smell the most like their beloved owners…such as the bed. 4. Cats Love with Rolling. When kitty throws himself on the ground at your feet, and rolls around, consider this a loving greeting and a solicitation for attention. Presenting the tummy in this fashion places the cat in a vulnerable posture. So cats generally reserve the rolling around for people they truly love. 5. Cats Love with Scratching. Just as with the spraying, cat scratching leaves both scented and visual marks of ownership. Pay attention to where your cat scratches the most. The areas most important to kitty often are related to those places associated with the owner, like a favorite chair where you sit. 6. Cats Love with Gifting. Mighty hunter cats that catch everything from toys to bugs, mice or frogs, often share the bounty with those they love. Kitties who present you with this bounty deserve praise. They wouldn’t bring these special gifts if they didn’t love you. 7. Cats Love with Grooming. Cats spend an enormous amount of time self-grooming. They also groom each other, but shared grooming behaviors only happen between friendly cats. Kitties that groom their human by licking your skin or hair, or even nibbling or sucking on your clothing, indicates great affection. A Cat's Diary - ================================ Day 84 of my captivity… My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant. Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded. Maybe I should try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. I must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little kitty cat I was. This is not working according to plan. There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing something called ' allergies.' Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He speaks with them regularly, and I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait. May 6, 2013--- Guess its about time! Good Monday Morning! Have a super day! We want to apologize that it has been forever since we did a good round of blogging on CC. Now we are doing a c/p and do have to apologize to you. We are well and have told a few friends that mom is planning a big trip to visit family in Norway this summer. Also, a cousin from Norway will be returning here for a visit after. Mom has to do some painting and work on the house too or arrange for it to be done. Kitty care and a house-sitter is arranged. Doggy care is in the works. Mom got her e-ticket and her Passport came Saturday. We also feel guilty that K.Barney did promise continued stories time to time and so far we have not! Well, we do have one for today, but will have to keep it short. Not a story mom is too proud of, because she should have listened to Angel Pasha, who you met during our Catpaign. One summer night he bit her arm to wake her out of a sound sleep and then ran to the window. To mom's credit she looked out, but did not see anything, so chased Pasha from their room. He tried to protest and kept running to the window, but mom still did not see anything and did not investigate further. Well, she did lean her lesson----- in the morning she talked to her neighbor and found out he had been gone that night and his house was robbed! Mom felt so guilty that she had not done more, but she was so tired and did not see or hear anything from where she was. She sure learned that cats may have more of a sense when something is wrong than most humans realize. Of course, there are still times when we kitties just can't sleep and we want some company. purrss kiwikatt oh no! you don't want to be an outside cat too much danger out there, its good to view from window! i am funny my mom puts out bread/oatmeal/nuts for the birds/squirrels to come by the windows for me to watch and i get so excited i try to jump at them and bump my face on the window mol never learn either for i keep doing it! pool sounds great mom is going to try out the one the apt got here and would you believe its salt water one? why she don't know?? good they are taking lots of safety precaution good if have kids around. its not hard to learn to swim, even if you have to do the doggie paddle, mom use to go to a park pool every summer day when she was little, you had to take a test to get on the deep end so she was learning but one day a kid pushed her in and said oh well swin or sink! so i swam..really scared her too, but she passed the test. just don't like water splahed in her face like some people like to do to ya!swimming is good exercise too! hope your mom gets over the bad letter, yes who ever sent it will get repayed if somethng is not true! not nice to make people sad. having cold rain and cold windy days ! where is the spring weather??/ have a blessed day/ prayers to all in need /headbonks/ hugs/kisses / pork loin catnip/ angel marley/mom/wonderful tigger! know what you mean with the weather crazy, places getting snow & all this rain??? mother nature got her seasons messed up!!!having cold rain and cold windy days ! where is the spring weather??/ have a blessed day/ prayers to all in need /headbonks/ hugs/kisses / pork loin catnip/ angel marley/mom/wonderful tigger! Hey KiWi KaTT! Nice to hear from you. Glad things are going well. Mom had the wire removed from her knee yesterday. She is very sore today. Her knee is stiff & swollen and it still feels like she is wearing the steel brace. And her knee burns! But she can sit with her foot on the floor and bend it 90*. So that is an improvement. Hi KiWiKaTT, Well, it certainly sounds like human sis is taking all the precautions she can with that pool, the kids will have a ball in it over the summer for sure. Your Mom sounds like our Angel Grandma, she never did learn to swim but in her case it was because she had a really scary experience in the water when she was young. She was okay in the water as long as her feet were touching bottom! It's good to know your breakaway collar actually does break away, glad you didn't go wandering off when you got free in the yard. I got out once when no one knew about it and I went straight to the first human I saw. He brought me home, but Mallow says not all humans are that nice! I certainly have never met any who weren't nice, at least to ME! I think that spending time thinking about positive things is the best way to spend it. What goes around comes around, and that's just a different way of saying Karma. And remember, what someone chooses to say about you often says waaaay more about THEM, for good or for bad. GOOD MORNING! Sorry We haven't been on for a couple days to visit. Mom is getting mind-boggled over things she needs to do before July and her trip to Norway. She is working on things around the house, learning a new cel phone, making plans for things to to before, during and after the trip. We are keeping your mom in our prayers and hoping she continues to heal. Our mom's knee is better. She has found a nutritional supplement that really helps, but she gets tired of taking the pills everyday and then skips them and finds herself in trouble. Mom is also still worried about what to do about the dogs. We kitties are set with our sitter. The vet's kennel is a last resort, but a very expensive one. We kitties are doing very well, enjoying a few warmer days, spending time in open windows and on the front porch. Colder and possible snow tomorrow??? Sure hope that weather report is wrong. good morning! it's been a surprisingly cooler than usual month here and dry too! the past week and now week #2 going on week #3 of a sunny dry and 70s with some 60s mixed in as well as 30s and 40s at night with a few 50s more like fall here than spring, but we're not complaining one bit as the more we see the sun, the more likely we'll pay for it in the end this coming new month. can't believe it's the last day of another month as it's just whizzed by like a top! janet's gotta hurry to get through as much cc as she can as she's got an 8:15am appt. to have 3 warts frozen off one on her thumb on her right hand that refuses to budge and then two new smaller ones on her right foot. she's done most of the cooking and up till now most of the outside yard/garden work and will have to water her garden seeing that it doesn't look like we're gonna get any rain this or next week so we're lucky in a good sort of way. nat finishes up with his final in a premath 2 course in a few weeks for this year and has registered so far for 2 courses required for this fall and will have to take one more at the college but right now doesn't know which way he's gonna go! sandy,ana,haley,angels SPORTS DAY THIS WEEK IS FRIDAY IF YOU WANNA COME THEY'RE WEEKLY NOW. The golden rule is a saying our mommy lives by & follows it everyday. She has so little & whatever she has is welcome to someone who needs it. ♥From Lola´s Kitty Desk...♥ Good evening dearest Kiwi!! I´m so sorry you´re having cold and rainy weather at your home. I bet Mr.Sun will be visiting you soon as you are now getting into Spring. I understand you wanting to chase that lovely butterfly outside. Be careful when you go out and keep always close to your parents, sweetie. My Mom is definitely runing my social life. MOL! Yes, my mischievous Mommy is always telling me she has to do this, she has to do that... She needs to understand she is MY secretary and that I need her to write my kitty blogs!! I´m happy she´s home this evening. I just jumped over her lap to make sure she is really going to write my letters. (Tee-hee!). We had a nice weekend. Our parents visited a marriage of Peruvian friends as the lady was celebrating her birthday. Mom told us they had a great time and she kept on talking about all the yummy food in the pawty. Too bad we didn´t get any of it. The weather was lovely and sunny although it rained on Saturday night. After the rain we noticed about some little bugs in our food dishes. Mommy said they were ants and that they come with the humid weather. Sally and me saw them and started to meow load to alert Mom. We wanted them away from OUR food. Momma was not happy about them either. She changed our food and moved our dishes to another place. Then she washed the floor with a nasty fluid and told us they were gone for good. Mom and Dad are looking forward to Wednesday when they will be off work since we´re celebrating Labor´s Day. I hope you all have a super purrfect Monday. Hi KiWi KaTT Be careful when you are ouside. I've never been outside. Mom said she has lost too miny cats to the outside world. It has been raining lots here too. It has been nice today. Mom is afraid of the water too. Hi KiWi KaTT! The new pool sounds wonderful. Too bad you don't swim! I'm glad you didn't run off too far when you escaped outside! You never know what is lurking out there! Be careful sweet furiend! Another Monday means house cleaning day! I better get my favorite spot outside under the tree. Today is supposed to be 90 degrees. Our outside fursis Whitey and her furiend Orangie were ready and waiting for their breakfast this morning. It was unusually warm for so early in the morning and the two cats were ready to start their day. My Mom got to pet both of them. Orangie is beginning to warm up to my Mom. Mom is going to try taking the top of the cat carrier off, to make it less scary for the cats. Angel Q. Miss Mille suggested this and it sounds like a good idea. Keep your paws crossed. I left a vote with purrs and hugs. Hi KiWi KaTT Good to hear from you,sounds like you had a great time chasing that butterfly when you got out the other day,so glad you got back in ok.Butterflys are sure fun to chase aren't they.So sorry mom got a bad letter,hope she is ok.Wow that sure is a big pool human sis is gong to put in,mom said she wishes that she had learned to swim but she never did.How are you today.It stopped raining here and mr.sun has been out today,yaaaa,we got to go out after being in the house for 2 days!Missy lay in the sun,ate grass,then napped on moms lap.Mom took me for a walk to all my exploring places,guess what,ween we got almost to the huge groundhog hole under the building,mom saw mom groundhog and about 4 babies with her,when I saw those I just stopped really still, mom said my tail and whole body did not move at all while I was looking at them,me,mom,Oreo just stood there real still and those babies just sat there and looked at us,they were so cute,then mom groundhog made them all go back in their hole,you could hear them under there playing,mom is going to try and get a picture of them,she never has her camera when she needs it!I have never saw a groundhog up that close,but they sure were not scared of us,mom awwwwww Spongie look how cute they are.So after they went back in thier house we went on,I sure wanted to go check out that hole,but mom said I don't think so and all those babies in there,that would make mom groundhog very angry little man!So off we went,I explored under al mousey bushes,ate grass,chased a huge bug,it got away,then chased a butterfly,there was lots out today flying all around after that rain,they were flying all around Oreo,he just lay there and looked at them,hehe.So many birds today,Robins,Blue Jays,and doves were flying all over,I said hi as they flew by!Then I lay in mr.sun and told him I was glad he was back today,I missed him.Then mom got really tired and we had to come in,I came right in ,I was a little tired also from seeing everything out today.Came in no racing through the house I did all that and moved the condo across the floor early this morning,mom just pulled the covers up over her head until I stopped,hehe!Then I rested with mom,mr.innertube for awhile.Well last night I bit mom on her cheek right below her eye,I was sleeping and mom was scratching me under the chin and must have pulled my fur a little,today she has 2 huge teeth marks on her cheek,she knows that I did not mean to do it,but she did scold me a little bit and gave me a little wacky on my little furry behind,and said she was going to pull my 2 big teeth and I would have to wear false teeth,now what about that,I will have to wear a muzzle to bed so mom won't pull my chompers,hehe!Now I'm in my favorite sunny spot on toy rug with my paws in the air,ole sun sure feels good,Missy,Cindell,Wicket all napping,Baby bathing herself,sun nappy time for all,pawhugs,biter Spongie,Gang,Angels. Dear KiWi KaTT, You don't blog that often, but when you do, it's a book! Sorry your weather is not cooperating (all the rain). If it makes you feel any better, we had 100* yesterday and a predicted high today of 105*. Now that's miserable! We hardly have any Spring here in Phoenix. It goes right from Winter to Summer! So, you escaped and had a little sojourn out in the back yard, eh? How cool that sounds! My pawrents never let me go outside. Although I must say I escaped three times since we've been living here. Two times I just hung around in our yard, but once I went about two blocks away and hid under some people's mobile home. But I was back home before Midnight. I must say you look very cute with the bow in your hair in your profile picture. You're very photogenic. I'm not easy to photograph because I'm so black. Either I'm hard to see, or if Mama gets too close, the flash makes my fur "whiten" with shininess. Well, Mama's going to put on the A/C, so I'll say bye-bye. Hi KiWi! There is no such thing as a "happy" Monday! At least today is a decently warm day, for once. Like you, we have not had many decent weather days at all. Last week we had a pretty bad flood in parts of the city. I'm sorry to hear that your Mom got a "bad" letter. I hope it doesn't discourage her too much. My pawrents have a pool, but it isn't as big as your human sister's and it's pretty useless right now. The air ring around the top sprung a leak or three and deflated, and then all the rain we had actually worked to drain the water out of the pool. Dad puts big air pillows in during the winter and a tarp on top, and the tarp got so filled up with water that it weighed everything down and made the pool drain. Bummer! We don't know if it can be fixed, but if it can't they won't have a pool. They can't afford a new one. :-( Well, time to jet. Have a good Monday, if possible. Silent Purrs, Angel Q.
