 Gordita is a southpaw. |
My parents came over for a visit and my dad started talking about how he’s currently noticed that
Gordita, their cat, has a paw preference. Apparently Gordita is a left-pawed cat. She uses her left paw to pull food bits out of her bowl. She uses her left paw to scoop water out of her water dish for a drink. And she uses her left paw to tap his nose in the morning when she’s decided she’s waited long enough for her breakfast.
I thought back to when she lived with me and I can confirm that she indeed used her left paw for many things. Although I can’t remember if she had much of a paw preference when it came to whacking Stitch, I do have photos and video of her using her left paw to drink water and eat her food.
My dad asked me if Stitch has a paw preference and I had no clue. I decided to make it a mission to try and pay attention to which paw he’ll tap me with when he’s decided I’ve slept in long enough on the weekends or which paw he’ll use to swat things with. The problem is that each time I’ve thought to pay attention, he’s not doing anything but sitting, or lying down or curled up sleeping. I guess I’ll just have to be more vigilant about trying to pay attention. Have any of you noticed if your cat has a paw preference?
