Stitch loves his Lola, or grandma. |
I was having a quiet and relaxing day this past Sunday. Kevin and the boys were at his sister’s house. Stitch was curled up in a kitty ball asleep on my bed. My mom came to visit and peruse our collection of Dr. Seuss books for an upcoming lesson plan. The boys have taken to calling her Lola, which means “grandma” in the Filipino culture. I’ve also started to refer to her as Lola to Stitch whenever he’s going to go stay overnight at my parents’ house.
Not too long after she sat down on the couch and started talking to me, a gray and cream ball of fur came bounding out of my room and up onto the couch. He jumped onto her and put his face right up next to hers. It was an excited sniff of “Is it you? Is it really you?” I guess the sound of her voice had waken him from his cat nap and he was just so excited he came running out at top speed to see if it was really her.
She said hello to him and gave him a pat. And she told me that Gordita has been looking for him. Personally I think she was hoping perhaps Stitch and his tasty food would make another appearance at her house. Stitch curled up on my mom’s lap whenever she was sitting on the couch. He remained snuggled up asleep on her lap, and luckily for him we were engrossed in an episode on the Discovery Channel that kept us couch-bound for the majority of her stay.
It was really sweet and he seemed rather disappointed when she had to wake him up so she could leave. I promised him he would get to see her soon. Stitch sure loves his Lola.
