Sweet Sadie, above, loves company, but not PJ, below.

One of my clients has two cats that I have taken care of for about three years now. Sadie is a
Ragdoll and is one of the sweetest cats I have ever met. She has the softest meow and loves to be brushed and petted. Her sister, PJ, is another story.
PJ is a seal-point
Himalayan. She is a beautiful cat but even though I have been in her house and taken care of her over 50 days total, I have yet to pet PJ. She is very wary of strangers. She’ll come into the same room with me now and watch me from a safe distance, but never gets close enough for me to touch her. And I long to because I would love to brush her silky fur.
Sadie will call to me when I come into the house. I call “Sadie, where are you,” and I hear her soft mew. Then she’ll find me and roll over on the rug for me to pet her belly. Ragdolls have the softest hair ever and it is truly a joy to brush Sadie and hear her purr.
One of these days, I would love to win PJ over but I don’t know if it will ever happen. I do give her treats but I have to toss them from 3-4 feet away or else she will run from me. I wonder why PJ has that personality but will never know. I feel lucky that Sadie has decided I’m kind of sweet, too, and is happy to let me show her affection.
