Being a huge cat fan and a fan of the TV show "House," I had to tune in on March 16 because the show featured a cat in an episode titled "Here Kitty."

The premise of the show was that a nursing-home kitty named Debbie would only sleep near people who were dying. A woman working at the nursing home became concerned because Debbie started sleeping on her and she was worried there was something terribly wrong and that she was dying. The character faked a seizure to get House to diagnose her,

Judy Greer from "Arrested Development" played the sick woman. I did not catch the real name of cat portraying Debbie, who appeared to be a Russian blue or blue mix. She did a great job in her role and the episode was entertaining.

I decided to check out the "House" website at  and found many people really enjoyed the episode. There is a string of comments around the topic of “Death Kitty.”  Currently, 59 people have commented on that particular string. All the comments I saw were very positive.

Several people want to keep the cat around and to continue the interactions with House, who is portrayed by actor Hugh Laurie. The commenters also said that the cat was an amazing actress.  Debbie was friendly and affectionate when she was supposed to be, mysterious at times, and even hissed on cue.

The show’s producers seemed to understand what was needed for cat care and set up a litterbox in House’s office for Debbie’s use.  House even appointed one of his minions the task of cleaning the box.

If you missed the episode and want to see it, go to the website, where full episodes are shown. If you are a cat lover, I think you’ll enjoy this episode. Personally, I would like to see more cats in shows, as long as they are treated humanely and not required to do anything dangerous or not display real cat behavior.

I'm going to have to watch the episode as a rerun, but House has done a great job with using animals in the show. Wilson's ex-wife's ancient Westie who stayed with House for a few shows reminded me a great deal of my much loved and much missed 16 year old Westie - loyal, loving, eternally happy, and perpetually destructive. The episode with the elderly kitty who had died from the termite poisoning and whose autopsy by House saved her former owner was heartbreaking but very well done. I love animals, especially cats, and I absolutely adore House!

That was a great episode! My husband doesn't really care to watch the show because he doesn't like House, but I was able to get him to watch that episode just because of the cat! I think they should keep the cat on the show because it was very entertaining and it might make House seem a little more friendly and more positive!!
