 Jasmine |
Last weekend, I got the call to take care of Jasmine, a 3-pound
Abyssinian and her dog pal, Cedar. I hadn’t stayed with them since August, so I was looking forward to seeing them again.
Jasmine is the smallest kitty I have ever seen. I wrote about her before in a previous blog. When I went to pick up the key, Jasmine and Cedar both demonstrated that they remembered me. Jasmine doesn’t like everyone and usually won’t let people pick her up, but when she saw me, she came running and let me hold her. Cedar gave me a few doggie kisses.
I only spent two nights with Jasmine and Cedar, but we had a great time. Jasmine especially loves her kitty treats. She jump up on the counter and twirls around waiting for them. Here’s a link to video showing how she will take a treat right from my fingers.
Jasmine is starting to show her age a little. She can’t jump quite as accurately and seems to have a bit of arthritis, which I recently read is very common in senior kitties. Her pet parents bought her a special pad that generates warmth and she loves to sleep on it. While I was there, I sat next to her pad and gave her a kitty massage. I have never heard such loud purring out of such a small creature. She really showed me her appreciation.
I’m looking forward to the next time I get to stay with Sweet Jasmine. I’m so lucky that I get to care for so many special pets.
