Jacy the Siamese might like quilts because they draw a lot of attention from people. |
A couple of years ago, my sister adopted a cat from the local Siamese rescue organization. Her name is Jacy. She has fit into the family very nicely and has been a welcome addition to their home.
I called my sister this weekend, and could hear Jacy in the background meowing away. Jacy likes attention, and meows every time she is in the same room as Cindy when she is on the phone. My Chloe does the exact same thing. It may be that they think we are talking to them, and are just responding, or it may be that they want attention. Whatever it is, I think it is funny that we both have cats that demonstrate that behavior. My other two cats, while Siamese, do not meow at me when I am on the phone.
My sister loves to quilt. She spends most of her spare time quilting and has created many beautiful quilts. Apparently, Jacy is quite the fan of Cindy’s quilts. She loves to sit on her current projects and cover as much of the quilt as she can. I’m not sure if she is trying to get my sister’s attention by stopping her work or what.
Cindy recently sent me this picture of Jacy sprawled out on her current quilting project while actually touching another quilt that was hanging on the wall. Look closely at Jacy’s face — she looks as happy as can be, but also has a glint of naughty in her expression.
My kitties love to “assist” in my crafting projects, too. They test every cat or dog bed I’ve ever made and just love to sit in the middle of whatever I’m working on. How about your kitties? Are they your quilting or crafting assistants?
