I would love to bring my pet to work. I have a tabby cat named Zoe. She has learned not to walk over the keyboard and has a very soothing effect on me when I work in my home office. But Zoe used to be a feral cat (no human contact during the first 8 or more weeks of her life). That translates to: she is very affectionate and bonded to my husband and myself, but does everything to hide from everybody else.
But in general, I think it would have a very calming and positive effect on the workspace if only one person would be allowed to bring a pet each day. Colleagues would get more connected, that would lead to fewer conflicts and therefore increased productivity in the workplace. If everybody was to bring in their pets in on the same day, it would probably get very loud and it would lessen productivity.
