Cats are better mothers than most humans are.. A mother cat will run into a burning building to rescue her kittens from a fire, but a human mother will wring her hands and yell for the firemen to go in and save her baby. A mother cat will discipline her kitten with a smack or a nip to teach it how to behave properly, a human mother will ignore their child's bad behavior because they "don't want to damage their self-esteem" by punishing them.
