Dr. Plotnick answers a question about which types of cats shed the least
Sphynx cats are hairless. No hair, no shedding!
Q: What type of cat does not shed?

A: Almost all cats shed. Some cats shed more than others, however.

Cats That Shed Less Than Others
Siamese, Burmese and Tonkinese cats have no undercoat, so they tend to not shed so much.

Cornish Rex and Devon Rex cats have an undercoat, but no outer guard hairs, so they also shed less.

Of course, if you truly want cats that don't shed at all, well, there's always the Sphynx. They are hairless. No hair — no shedding!

No. Hairless cats absolutely do not shed.

No shedding for a Sphynx is true, but it has extra responsibilities because it's hairless.

My Turkish Angora mix sheds a lot! My Siamese mix doesn't shed much.
