Bonding With a Sick Kitten
Long-term medical care seems to interfere with a kitten's ability to bond with her owner. A feline behavior expert offers some advice.

If the kitten meows a lot, play a radio softly near the entrance of the sanctuary room door so it muffles some of the meows in order to not stress out your resident kitty quite so much.

It's understandable that your kitty is agitated because she doesn't understand who or what is on the other side of the door. You are in a tough position right now but things will get better once the kitten is healthy and you can begin a proper introduction.
