Pet apparel designer Loretta Forer shows fashion no longer goes to the dogs.

By Lindsay Hanks

Cats prancing around wearing leg warmers, silk organza collars and tank tops proudly proclaiming “I’m The Cat’s Meow.” Sounds more like something you’d see on an episode of Project Runway than in someone’s living room. For years, dogs have made quite the fashion statement (Thank you, Paris Hilton?), but cats are finally snagging the limelight.

After nearly 30 years of success in the design industry, she’s shifted her focus off of the world’s fashionistas and onto their furry companions. When Forer started Hot Cool Dog Cat (HCDC for short), her own brand of high fashion clothing and accessories for pets, cats were the first thing on her mind.

this is great, I can buy doll clothes for the kittens, but cat clothes are hard to find. Hopefully, this will start a trend, and us cat lovers, unable to buy "high end", will then get a chance to buy more affordable outfits for OUR babies.
