Sometimes after Gloria Busselman finishes vacuuming, she re-enters a room and notices something a little amiss: dainty little paw prints in the carpet. The Washington-based Persian breeder appreciates the humor of the situation. “I just think it’s cute,” she says.

As simple as it sounds, the little paw prints in the carpet capture a small, if important, insight into the Persian. While this breed isn’t likely to scale curtains or jump from the floor to the top of the refrigerator in an athletic feat, Persians do display a playful sense of humor and fun.
