The Cats of Pollsmoor Prison

The prison that once housed Nelson Mandela now is home to some lucky feral cats.

By Sandy Robins

Nestled in the foothills of the picturesque, vineyard-clad Constantiaberg Mountains in Cape Town, South Africa, is Pollsmoor Prison. Today it houses murderers, rapists, notorious gangsters and a unique feral cat colony that impacts the lives of those around them.

It just goes to show us that the greatest of the great are found in the most unlikely places. May those cats be highly valued, protected, and loved, and may they work their miracles on the inmates AND staff of that notorious place. (I pray the cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated!)
