I think cats do go to heaven. My beloved kitten snowleapard deid two years ago and I have been asking myself this question ever sice. i have to beleive that cats and other animals cannot tell right from wrong, and are innocent of sin, ergo they should go to heaven. The Bible also says there will be no sadness, and i'm sure most of us would be sad to never see our friends again.

This story makes me feel so much better as our family just lost a nine week old kitten due to a dog bite, we had a litter of four and i've wondered all night is our little angel in heaven? Thanks for making our grieving family feel so much better. It gives us some relief!

Although The Bible does not give us a specific answer to this question, as a cat rescuer and theology major, I am firmly convinced that cats go to Heaven. Here is why:

When God created this world, He also lovingly created each and every animal (Gen. 1). Life itself requires the presence of a soul (Gen. 2)- a self-contained spiritual entity that inhabits a physical body, but is more than just the body. The soul is the unique personal identity of a unique lifeform that exists long after the body dies. One only has to look into the eyes of a cat to see that there is a creature of great intellect and insight living behind those eyes. Our cats' personalities reflect the very essence of their souls, as all cat lovers know that no two cats are ever exactly alike.

The Bible tells us that Death entered the world because of Mankind's sin. This means that humans, animals, and all life once lived in a world where there was no death. Humans and animals could live forever in perfect harmony with each other and with God.

No one was ever meant to go to Heaven, but when Death entered the world, Heaven was established as the temporary home for the soul until the work of God's Redemption of Man is completed.

Indeed, all life returns to the Creator. In fact, the only creation of God not assured of making the trip is Man, which is why the Bible focuses on how Man can be saved. I know that I will be there (see John 3:16), and I know that, whenever I stand over the grave of one of my cats, or look upon their urns in my home, I can be assured that they are not gone. I know that I will see them again, that we will share together in the new world to come.
