As I sat waiting with my cat in the Marina Animal Hospital in Toronto, Canada, a young woman rushed in holding a frightened and dirty Bombay kitten.
Simultaneously, my veterinarian, Dr. Farzad Ghazi, entered the reception area.
The woman, on the verge of tears, blurted out, "Doctor, I found this kitten by the lake and I can't keep it. Would you find it a good home?"
