Sometimes it seems that a collar is everywhere but on the cat’s neck.

The fact that my cats, Cali and Fudge, are indoor cats and completely unfamiliar with the outdoors makes it all the more important for them to wear collars with ID tags. However, they began removing their collars, leaving them intact and lying around the house. What caused this war between my cats and their collars?

Cali and Fudge always have worn collars with up-to-date ID tags on them. In fact, they are quite famous for their collars. When we lived in South Africa, someone actually stole their sterling silver ID tags. The incident made the local paper — something along the lines of “Cats the victims of a cat burglar …”
