It was a warm, summer evening as you and your family sat together outside, just finishing dinner. Lightning bugs blinked intermittently, and the breeze jostled the wind chimes. Everyone was full and relaxed, slouched in patio chairs. What a perfect night, you thought.
And that’s when it hit you.
“Hey, I haven’t seen Fritz around lately. Have you?” You ask the rest of your family as you bolt forward in your seat. Fritz is your indoor-only orange tabby cat.
“You know what, now that you mention it, no, I haven’t seen Fritz today at all either,” your sister says.
“Do you think we should go look for him inside?”
“Eh, Fritz is fine,” your dad says. “He’s probably just been curled up under someone’s bed most of the day.”
