Follow some simple steps to keep your cat’s kidneys
functioning properly.

Your cat’s kidneys are responsible for filtering and eliminating waste and toxins through the urine. Without properly functioning kidneys, toxins accumulate, causing organ failure and eventual death. Kidney disease is the No. 1 cause of death among older cats. No one knows why older cats suffer from kidney failure, but some researchers and holistic veterinarians suspect over-feeding dry, commercial diets with preservatives, over-vaccination and bacteria from dental infection may be possible causes.
