Decoupage Cat Planter
This easy-to-make gift is perfect for any cat lover. I put catnip in it, but you can plant whatever you believe your gift receiver would like best.
Supplies Needed:
- Terracotta pot
- Mod Podge (a combination adhesive and sealant)
- Brush
- Cat pictures
- Paint (if desired)
- Potting soil
- Catnip (or other plant)
|
1. Start by painting the planter, if so desired. I used a versatile white base color to set off my cat pictures.
|
| 2. Cut out your cat pictures. I used old copies of CAT FANCY and cat stickers. You can also use your own pictures, buttons, yarn — pretty much anything lightweight. |
3. Use the Mod Podge to glue your pictures or objects onto the pot. Don’t worry if you are messy with your gluing, it dries clear. Start with bigger pictures to make the base of your design, and then layer on top with smaller images. Let dry two hours. |
4. Coat the entire pot with Mod Podge. Again, don’t worry if it looks thick and you can’t see your pictures. I recommend putting on at least two coats, letting it dry 20 minutes between each layer. |
|
5. Plant your catnip or other plant. |
