Years ago, your veterinarian was the only person who could fill your pet's medication prescriptions. Nowadays, you can also fill your pet's medications from an online pet pharmacy, or even your own local pharmacy if the medication is a human medication they carry.

PetRx, a new program by retail giant Target, offers yet another option to fill pet medications. In the fall of 2010, Target launched the pilot program in 35 Target stores in Minnesota, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. In addition to filling human drugs prescribed for pets, participating Target pharmacies filled prescribed pet medications.
