Find out how microchipping can bring missing cats home

By Dusty Rainbolt

It must have seemed like Ox to the bewildered and frightened cats inside the cages. At Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in Gainesville, Texas, shelter supervisor Debbie Lhotka scanned the lost and abandoned cats. Few had collars and none wore current ID tags.
“I wish they could talk,” Lhotka says. “I wish they could tell me how to get them home.”

Although it might be too late for those Gainesville cats, your kitties still have an opportunity to sport the high-tech alternative to Dorothy’s ruby slippers: a microchip.
