Fiero, a playful, black 1-year-old cat, stuck his paw out at the wrong time and his leg got run over by a computer chair. His owner, Juliana Jason of Long Beach, Calif., took him to the local veterinarian and discovered Fiero had ruptured his Achilles tendon. Te injury could be treated in one of only two ways: costly reconstructive surgery or amputation. Fortunately, Jason had purchased pet insurance just two months earlier.
“Since we had it, it enabled us to make our decision without regard to money,” she says. “We could do whatever was best for our cat.”
