Top Cat (aka TC), 21
Jake Kozlowski
Pittsburgh

Top Cat (aka TC) is old and happy. So old, it's rumored that his father was a saber toothed tiger. He notoriously distributed catnip during Prohibition. He first donned a pompadour in 1952 as front man for music legends The Buff Tabbies. At 21 (101 human years), he has no regrets!

Trouble and Baby, 21
Barbara Hanson
Oswego, Ill.

My cats, Trouble and Baby, are sisters from the same litter born on October 15, 1991. You would not know they are that old, as they run up and down the stairs and all over the house. They greet me when I come home and sleep with me at night. I always have one of them in my lap when I sit down. I love them very much, and they love me.

Jasmine, 20
Diane Lauzon
Raymond, Alberta, Canada

My name is Jasmine. I'm a 20-year-old domestic shorthair tabby, and I was named after Princess Jasmine of Aladdin fame. I have always filled the house with joy and laughter and even saved my family from a near house fire. The kids have since grown and moved away, and we have said goodbye to other family pets and even family members, but I remain strong and the center of my mom's world. I continue to enjoy good health, and my favorite things to do are lie in the sun, run in the yard and make sure the dogs are all in line!

Tiffany, 20
Mr. and Mrs. Shanks
High Ridge, Mo.

Tiffany is 20. We got her when she was 7 weeks old. I have turned our guest bedroom into the cat condo where she has a heated bed, window perch, water fountain, litterbox, food and steps going to the big bed. With her arthritis, she doesn't have to go far to get what she needs – along with our love and the everyday brushing.

Coco Chanel, 20
Jim and Diane Ashby
Rolla, Mo.

We have had Coco Chanel since July of 1991. I rescued her from a local no-kill animal shelter when she was 4 months old. Coco is a Birman and is a very faithful and loving cat. Even though she is 20 years old, she still interacts with our other four cats on a daily basis who are all, of course, junior to her. Coco is basically my lap cat, and whenever she spots me sitting down, her little warm body is on my lap, and she immediately starts purring. I am truly amazed every day at how blessed we have been to have this loving, wonderful cat in our lives.

Angel
Terry A. Rudy
Lake Mary, Fla.

Angel is 21 years old. We really didn't want a Siamese when we went to the breeder, but she came out of nowhere and climbed up my arm to snuggle into my hair, purring like crazy. Who could say no to that?

Jenny-Any-Dots, 21
Marilee Wright
Green Valley, Ariz.

Jenny was given to me by a co-worker when she was 8 weeks old. She fit in the palm of my hand. Since then she has been my constant companion and best friend.

We adopted Greycee Lou in December 2008 after seeing her on Petfinder.com. She is deaf and has no teeth, but she still enjoys her canned food.

Long Grove, Ill.

Penelope is the head mistress of this family. She is 22 years old and came from a litter of nine. She started a love for felines that has seen some 30 stray cats come and go. She has our undivided attention and love.

Skeeter, 22
Lisa M. Chapman
Oakland, Maine

Skeeter is 22 years old. Most of the time, he sits in my recliner in this position because his hips hurt him. He enjoys treats to the point that he will drool for them.

Great article!
I have a 22-year-old too. Is there any chance I
could get her picture in?
We got her in 1991.

I LOVE TO SEE THE CATS GET OLD, ESP. WHEN THEIR HAPPY. MY FIRST TWO CATS LIVED TO AGE 22--ONE DIED OF OLD AGE & THE OTHER OF HEARTBREAK. MY THREE CATS NOW ARE 12 (THE MOM) & AGE 10 (THE SONS). HOPE THEY LIVE AS LONG OR LONGER. MY FRIEND'S CAT WAS 29 WHEN HE DIED OF OLD AGE, SHE LOVED HIM DEARLY. HE DIED IN HER ARMS, SHE STILL CRIES WHEN SHE TALKS ABOUT SAMMIE.

It's wonderful seeing so many cats living to such ripe, old ages in such good health! Congratulations to all of them, and a huge "THANK YOU!" to all their humans for caring for them so well.
