What was the reason for your most recent pet store “impulse” purchase?
I liked the special display
I watched a demonstration
Someone in store recommended it
The item was on sale
The item had a promotion I liked
It was a new item I wanted to try
I liked the way it looked
I didn’t make an impulse purchase

Delilah

Delilah is the proud owner of an ex-Marine Sergeant. She is a tabby cat that I rescued more than 10 years ago. When she was only a kitten, I used to arrange her wet food in a neat pile just to keep it from drying out because she would never eat all of her wet food at one time. Little did I know that my kitten would expect this into her adult life. Now, as soon as she noses her food out of a neat and respectable place, she will stop eating and search for me to adjust her food. If I am not close enough to see her, she let’s me know by starting with a very low “mew” and then escalating into an enraged “MEOW!” Once her food is adjusted, I must keep it neat, in place and correctly adjusted to her needs, so as not to incur the wrath of my Delilah.

So, who owns whom? She is very much my friend, companion and a true delight in my life. We both enjoy our romps in the yard, playing the “stick” game, chasing bugs and helping one another plant, weed and tend our gardens. Who would have ever thought that a tiny tabby would order and take charge of a sergeant that was in the Marine Corps?
