 Rory
My cat Rory is the youngest of my four house cats. They are all spoiled of course, but Rory takes the cake (literally). On her first birthday, July 4, 2005, I threw her a birthday party. I bought balloons, party favors (cat toys for her guests) and even had a birthday “cake” (can cat food) for her in a special ceramic cat dish that she shared with the other guests.
Last summer, we purchased a cat stroller that looks like a real baby stroller. Rory absolutely loves going for a “trolley trolley ride” in her stroller. She especially loves trips in the car to the drive thru at the bank and trips to see geese at a nearby lake.
Rory has a Disney Princess canopy doll bed, Barbie mouse, and Russ chirping bird, which are her prized possessions. Her favorite part of the day is when I allow her to play with the water dripping in the kitchen sink with her rubber duckie, or take a shower. She also loves watching “Gilmore Girls” and “Finding Nemo.” I named her after Rory on “Gilmore Girls,” and ever since she was a kitten, she stops whatever she is doing to see why they are saying her name on the television. She also began watching “Finding Nemo” as a kitten and will watch it from start to finish.
From the very beginning, we have known that Rory was very special. She is an amazing therapy cat. She is a well mannered lap cat when it comes to the elderly. We have taken Rory, to visit a nursing home and the residents love her.
I don’t mind when everyone makes fun of me for spoiling my cats because I know they deserve it.
