ON THE MOVE
Traveling with your cat in a car or airplane may be the most difficult task you will encounter during your move. Most cats prefer staying in familiar surroundings, especially when the cats cannot see, according to Michael Siggers, a veterinarian and owner of Best Care Pet Hospital in Omaha, Neb. So being on the move can be uncomfortable for you, your cat and, possibly, your pocketbook.
"Generally, there are no additional costs for traveling with a blind cat," Siggers says. "However, using a holistic anti-anxiety supplement or spraying the travel container with a [pheromone] product like Feliway may increase the costs anywhere from a few dollars to $40 or so.
Aside from the cost, try to keep your cats stress-level down. Moving is a scary time, so ensure that your cat is secure during the move.
