The Cat Fanciers’ Association and Simon & Schuster once again host the Cutest Cat and Kid Digital Photo Contest, which has become an annual event. Cat lovers from the United States and Canada are invited to submit their photos from Aug. 1 to Sept. 15, 2008.
A panel of judges will select one grand prize winner, four second prize winners and 15 third prize winners. The grand prize winner will be announced at the CFA-Iams Cat Championship show on Oct. 19, 2008, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“This photo contest is an excellent opportunity for cat owners to portray the wonderful and loving relationship that children have with their pet cats,” said Pam DelaBar, CFA president. “We look forward to receiving many photos of adorable kids and their cats.”
Simon & Schuster’s Children’s Publishing Division is cosponsoring the contest with CFA in conjunction with the launch of the children’s book, “Hello, Calico!” by author Karma Wilson and illustrator Buket Erdogan. Plus, Erdogan will create an illustrated rendering of the winning photo for the grand prize winner.
“It’s a well-known fact that kids love both cats and books,” said Julie Powell Christopher, associate director of marketing for Simon & Schuster’s Children’s Publishing Division. “We are excited to be partnering with the Cat Fanciers’ Association in this photo contest.”
