I am glad to see a city official, Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani, finally have some sense. The organization of feral colonies is the ONLY way to go. Well fed cats will be less likely to hunt the birds (still will some), but not so much because they need to eat.

I think Springfield has a good idea going, however. I am a responsible pet owner and registering your pet is no problem, but I wonder if this will lead to them saying how many you can have. I also believe people should be held accountable for abondoning or dumping their pet(s).
