Top 10 Reasons People Give Up Their Cats and Dogs
It’s a myth to think that most pets end up at shelters because they have behavior problems. The truth is, most pets are turned in to shelters because of changes in people’s lives, which means there are lots of great pets at shelters – and lots of people who have trouble adjusting to change. I'm commenting on the Top 10 reasons people give up pets. Has anyone heard of what the HSUS calls the Feline Covenant? That's when you adopt a cat, you adopt it for LIFE. It's like having a child, you wouldn't just give it up one fine day when paying bills becomes a struggle or you don't "feel the love" as much. At least, we would hope you wouldn't. :) I've been thru many changes, moves, death of family, money troubles, etc., and have held on to my babies. They've adapted since we're together. They're the loves of my life and they know it. You CAN find a way to keep a beloved pet. If you really want to. There's always a way.

Animal Shelter Takes in 86 Cats Seized From Residence-

I'm glad there are people in the world who truly care about the well-being of animals. Some shelters would turn away an opportunity to help so many cats, even though they had adequate space. I know because I use to work at one.
