There will be plenty of star power for the benefit of animals Oct. 16 at the Young Friends of the ASPCA’s annual benefit for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The Shaggy Dog gala is scheduled for 9 p.m. at the Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building, 555 West 18th St., New York City.
The event’s honorary chairwoman is Katie Lee Joel, cookbook author and the wife of musician Billy Joel. The event will feature designs by Ed Libby & Co., music by DJ Berrie, cocktails and a silent auction. ASPCA animals will be available for adoption.
Some of the celebrities scheduled to appear at the event include Amanda Hearst, Gillian Hearst Simonds, businesswoman Dylan Lauren, actresses Lake Bell and Maggie Rizer, designer Thom Filicia, pet cosmetics entrepreneur Lorenzo Borghese and cast members of Bravo’s reality television show, “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
Tickets start at $160, with proceeds benefiting the ASPCA.
