Woman Has Rescuing Cats, Kittens Down to a Science
Amanda Casazza has two full-time jobs, but gets paid for only one of them. By day, Casazza is a science teacher at a southern New Jersey high school. But after school and on weekends, she is the field coordinator for Alley Cat Allies’ Atlantic City Boardwalk Project. That means she goes to the Atlantic City Boardwalk to feed feral cats, trap new arrivals so they can be vaccinated and “fixed” and tries to find homes for the ones that are sociable, Press of Atlantic City reports.

Cat Who Helped After Hurricane Gets New Owner, New Job, New Life
In post-Hurricane Katrina Mississippi, there were some awfully big rats. But they didn’t deter a cat named Bob Dylan from doing his job. It was Bob’s job to keep the rats and mice from overrunning the Hurricane relief volunteer camp where Neshannock Township resident Dick Craig stayed in July and August 2006 in Gautier, Miss., the Youngstown (Ohio) Vindicator reports.

Priests With Pets
Having pets in the rectory isn’t unusual, though some priests find it restrictive to be tied down to feeding and walking responsibilities. Others simply don’t enjoy the company of animals or they worry about the reaction of rectory staff or parishioners with allergies who might stop by. But parishioners seem to warm to the idea pretty quickly, the priests who live with pets say, the Worcester (Mass.) Telegram reports.
