More than 120 cat owners from the United States and Canada submitted digital photos of their cats with children for the Cutest Cat and Kid digital photo contest, co-sponsored by the Cat Fanciers’ Association and Simon & Schuster’s Children’s Publishing Division. Amy Bragg of Florida won the grand prize with her photo of her daughter embracing and kissing the family cat, Sawyer.
Bragg will receive an illustrated rendering of her winning photo, created by Buket Erdogan, illustrator of the “Calico!” series of children’s books written by Karma Wilson. Bragg also will receive a variety of Simon & Schuster children’s and adult books, a large selection of CFA branded products, and an assortment of pet product offers from PetSmart, Iams and Dr. Elsey’s.
“We are thrilled with the response to the contest,” said PamDelaBar, CFA president. “This photo contest was an excellent opportunity for cat owners to show the wonderful and loving relationship that children have with their pet cats. We received many beautiful photos, all portraying the love that kids have for cats, and vice versa.”
The photo contest winners were announced at the CFA-Iams Cat Championship show held in October at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Four second-prize winners were selected in the contest, as well as 15 third-place winners. To view all the winning photos, visit the CFA photo contest website.
