America's Family Pet Expo will feature presentations on making fun cat toys at home. |
Cat education and adoption are part of America's Family Pet Expo, which takes place through Sunday in Orange County, Calif.
The 20th annual pet expo in Costa Mesa features more than 1,000 animals, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, llamas, pot-bellied pigs, goats, rats, reptiles and miniature horses. Animals are on display for public viewing, as well as on stage for shows, competitions and demonstrations.
For cat fans, the feline highlights include cat education and pet adoption. On the entertainment stage will be “Hollywood Cats” trained performers and even cat celebrities. CAT FANCY and CatChannel Editor Susan Logan will demonstrate how to make
incredibly fun cat toys at home. Logan will appear at 3 p.m. PST Saturday; CatChannel Managing Editor Nikki Batalis will show how to make the toys at 3 p.m. PST Sunday.
Dog enthusiasts will want to check out police and search dog demonstrations, splash dog performers and skateboarding bulldogs. In addition, a Parade of Adoptable Darlings, sponsored by DOG FANCY and CAT FANCY magazines, shines the spotlight on canines dressed to impress, and ready to be adopted.
Show hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. The public is not allowed to bring pets to the pet expo.
