Cat owners who check their feline into the
Evergreen Cat Lodge near Denver can expect to see finely furnished suites — never cages or cat condos — and a safe and healthy environment fit for the most pampered pets, according to the owners.
Susan and Mike Nocket designed a lodge for pets that features 32 unique, cat-only boarding rooms. The suites are decorated to resemble a home setting and have electric fireplaces or replica wood-burning stoves.
In addition, most rooms have large windows overlooking the 9-acre property and the surrounding wildlife, including birds. The cats get individual care and attention to ensure they return home healthy and happy, the owners said.
The lodge offers V.I.P. (Very Important Pet), deluxe or economy suites. The entry to each suite is fitted with a full-length glass door to check on the guests without disturbing them.
“I had always been dissatisfied with the traditional boarding options for my own cats and wanted to create the kind of place where cat owners would feel truly comfortable leaving their cherished pets” said Susan Nocket.
With a background in feline rescue, the owners pay close attention to caring for cats with special needs. And while the lodge offers premium cat food, owners are encouraged to provide their pet’s regular food in order to maintain a normal routine and avoid stress.
If the owner’s schedules are tight, the lodge also offers a cat taxi service to pick up and drop off clients’ cats.
