Former Spice Girl Adopts Lion Cubs
Former Spice Girl Geri Haliwell has taken her love for wildlife to the next level by adopting two white lion cubs. She has named the cubs Rudi and Aphrodite. But the 36-year-old will only have a certificate that suggests her adoption. The cubs will remain at Paradise Wildlife Park, Hertfordshire, England, where they were born, reports News of the World.com.

Despite Obstacles, Woman's Drive to Save Cats Persists
Renate Schmitz is a cancer survivor, and she's raising her two grandchildren after her daughter was murdered. She has saved countless animals from death and suffering, and she does as much as she can for anyone who asks for help. Schmitz owns the nonprofit Last Hope Cat Kingdom, a cat sanctuary in rural Atwater. She started rescuing cats in 2000, and gives a lot of the credit to her late daughter, Mona Schmitz, reports the Merced (Calif.) Sun-Star.

Expanded Clinic Helps Pets, Even Arthritic Bobcat
North Fork Veterinary Clinic is celebrating 25 years in business with the opening of a new, expanded facility in North Auburn, Calif. Owners Tom and Sue Sheriff opened their first clinic in 1984 on Grass Valley Highway. They care for all kinds of animals, including an arthritic bobcat for a rescue group, the Auburn (Calif.) Journal reports.
