Kitty Found Under Hood of Car After Long Ride
Black and white, with singed whiskers and some dirt in between his pink paws, "Kenney" the kitten was all the rage at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society on Wednesday. Firefighters rescued him from under the hood of a car after, by all accounts, a patient from Kennebunk, Maine, drove to Dover, N.H., with the kitty hanging out next to the engine, Foster's Daily Democrat reports.

A Vancouver animal shelter has 150 per cent more cats than usual because a chain of pet stores, Petcetera, is in receivership. The seasonal explosion of kittens and cats would usually be handled by sending the cats to Petcetera stores, where people would adopt them, reports CBC.ca.
