Lynx Population Is Increasing in Colorado
The discovery of 10 lynx kittens in Colorado this spring after finding none the last two years and the location of some of the newborns outside what’s considered the cats’ core area have raised the hopes of biologists overseeing restoration of the long-haired mountain feline to the Centennial State, the Associated Press reports.

Kittens Found Covered in Oil, Grease
Two kittens found covered in grease and oil may be victims of animal cruelty, the MSPCA says. The kittens, named Grease and Monkey, were discovered on a porch in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood. Grease and Monkey are now in the care of the MSPCA and receiving daily baths. They could go up for adoption soon, MyFoxBoston.com reports.

The state of Oregon passed a new bill this week banning large exotic pets. The new bill intends to phase out potentially dangerous animals from private homes and will come into effect as law on Jan. 1, 2010, Examiner.com reports.
