The nation's newest start-up airline doesn't serve free peanuts, and there's no restroom – or seats – for the passengers. But flight attendants do escort passengers personally to the nearest patch of grass before and after the flight, and the airline's president and chief executive himself walks up the aisle every 15 minutes with a stash of biscuits and some words of comfort, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Pets Paying the Price as Economy Goes to the Dogs
The number of pets being turned over to shelters or abandoned across Hawaii is rising as the economy takes its toll on their owners. A check of the nearly 30 no-kill shelters around the state shows that many are full and continually receive requests to accept new animals, the Honolulu Advertiser reports.
