For Goldie Arnold, the goal is simple. “We want to keep pets with their families,” says Arnold, a founder of the new Northland Pet Pantry. The volunteer-run Pet Pantry, formed this year under the umbrella of the Northland Animal Welfare Society, or NAWS, provides pet food to people who are struggling to make ends meet and ready to surrender their pets, the Kansas City (Missouri) Star reports.
