Microchip Miracles: Missing Cats Reunited With Owners
Last week a woman surrendered a beautiful orange tabby she called "Chestnut" to the Sonoma Humane Society. She told staff that she had found him as a stray four years ago and that he had been her companion ever since. When Humane Society Veterinary Technician, Cindy Holm, scanned Chestnut for a microchip (common procedure for all animals who enter the shelter), she was surprised to hear the scanner beep since the owner had said she had not microchipped this cat, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
