Shambala Preserve Continues to Fight the California Wildfire
Rangers and animal handlers at actress Tippi Hedren’s Shambala Preserve big cat sanctuary in Acton, Calif., have been told to consider evacuating the property as wildfires creep ever closer. But staff have chosen to stay and fight the blaze rather than try to relocate the 64 lions, tigers, leopards and other exotic animals, including two tigers Michael Jackson once owned, the Post Chronicle reports.

Oregon Shelters Get Creative to Place Cats in Homes
Southern Oregon cat shelters are being forced to get creative to deal with overcrowding. The Southern Oregon Humane Society and Committed Alliance to Strays (C.A.T.S.) are both offering specials to try to place cats in good homes, KDRV News reports.
