Texas Volunteers Save Cat Colony After Woman’s Death
When Glinnie Berry of Johnson City, Texas, died in July, she left behind 110 cats roaming in and out of her 5-acre Hill Country property. Residents have stepped up to try to get as many cats adopted as possible and they’ve largely succeeded in finding the felines homes. About 16 cats remain, The Austin American-Statesman reports.

Sixteen Hilltown residents have been taken into custody in the last several weeks on charges ranging from loitering to reckless reproducing. But don’t worry, they’ll likely be returned to the area after surgery and recovery. Oh, and it may help to know the “residents” in question are stray cats, the Perkasie (Penn.) News Herald reports.

North Carolina Town Seeks Solutions to Feral Cat Overpopulation
Town leaders in Walnut Cove, N.C., are considering stiffening town animal ordinances in an effort to rid the town of hundreds of feral cats living in colonies throughout the town. The town mayor has asked residents to come up with solutions to the cat problem so the cats won’t have to be put in shelters where they will most likely be destroyed, WXII Channel 12 News reports.
