Petsmart Charities is hosting its Holiday National Adoption Event in Petsmart stores nationwide Nov. 13-15 with the goal of finding homes for 15,800 dogs, cats and small animals.

Those looking for a new pet are encouraged to visit a Petsmart Charities Adoption Center, located in all 1,082 Petsmart stores, to adopt a pet from one of the event’s participating animal welfare groups. More than 2,000 animal welfare agencies throughout the U.S. are expected to participate. Select Petsmart stores will also provide space in their parking lots to showcase additional homeless pets.

“Petsmart Charities strives to raise awareness about the benefits of adopting rather than purchasing a pet,” said Susana Della Maddalena, executive director of Petsmart Charities. “With so many amazing pets being showcased during this event, we know that thousands of pets will find their forever homes.”

New adoptive parents will receive free samples from the event’s sponsors, Purina Pro Plan, Tidy Cat and Petsmart. For more information, visit the Petsmart Charities website.
