A graphic designer accused of surreptitiously killing a series of his girlfriend's cats pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated animal cruelty, ending an eerie case in which authorities said the unsuspecting woman kept replacing her dying pets, reports The Associated Press.

Legislator Tries Second Time to License Oklahoma Dog, Cat Breeders
Rep. Lee Denney hopes this year to regulate Oklahoma's $30 million dog- and cat-breeding industry. A big change from last year's effort in the measure authored by the veterinarian is that those involved in breeding operations would no longer be required to register with the state to be licensed.
