St. Louis Seeks New Home for Stray Pets
St. Louis City’s stray and abandoned dogs and cats are looking for a new home. Mayor Francis Slay announced that the St. Louis City Animal Care and Control Center on Gasconade will close by summer. Slay said he decided to close the shelter because it is “badly outdated and incapable of humanely caring” for the animals,

'Gothic Kittens' Groomer Launches Website to Fund Appeal
Since Holly Crawford's conviction on animal-cruelty charges, the Sweet Valley, Penn., pet groomer has vowed to appeal a guilty verdict of animal-cruelty charges for piercing kittens' ears, docking their tails and marketing them online as "gothic," reports the Scranton (Penn.) Times Tribune.
