Children can write poems on cats, including what the children love about cats and the joys that cats bring, and enter for a chance to win a $250 gift card. |
The American Pet Products Association invites students in grades 3rd through 8th to write a unique poem about their
cats,
dogs or other pets, what the
kids love about cats, dogs or other pets and the joys they bring. Entrants may post their dog or
cat poem online
or mail their final poem and submission form to: Pets Add Life, 661 Sierra Rose Dr., Reno, NV 89511. Deadline for submissions is Jan. 31, 2012, at 5:00pm EST.
One student from each grade level (six total) nationwide will win a $250 gift certificate for dog or cat products and a “by-line” in a nationally circulated publication. In addition, the six winning students’ classrooms will each win a $1,000 scholarship to spend on pet-related education.
In addition, teachers within contest grade levels can to incorporate this national contest into their lesson plans and submit poems in one entry on behalf of their classrooms.
